Diamond Jim LeatherWorks (“Diamond Jim LeatherWorks,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to diamondjimleatherworks.com and to inquiries you send us through it.
The short version
This is a small custom leather workshop, not an advertising business. We do not sell your personal information, we do not run advertising pixels, and the website does not profile you. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us in a commission inquiry.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit the commission form or email us, we receive the information you provide — typically your name, email address, optional phone number, the type of project, and whatever you tell us about the piece you want made. If a commission proceeds, we may additionally collect a shipping address and any measurements, photographs or reference material you send.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. This is handled by our hosting provider and is not used by us to identify or track individuals.
Payment information
We do not collect or store card numbers on this website. If you commission a piece, payment is arranged separately (for example by invoice or a third-party payment processor), and any card details are handled by that processor under its own privacy policy.
How we use your information
- To answer your inquiry and prepare a quote
- To design, build, invoice and deliver a commissioned piece
- To keep records of past commissions so we can service or repair a piece later
- To comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we will not add you to a marketing list without asking you first.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:
- Website hosting — serves the site and keeps server logs
- Form and database provider — receives and stores commission inquiries
- Email provider — delivers notification and reply emails
- Shipping carriers — receive the name and address needed to deliver your piece
- Payment processor — handles payment if you commission work
- Professional advisers or authorities — where we are legally required to disclose
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and contains no third-party tracking pixels. See our Cookie Policy for the full detail and for what would change if we add analytics in future.
Data retention
Inquiries that do not lead to a commission are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Records relating to completed commissions — including invoices — are kept for as long as needed to support and repair the piece and to meet tax and accounting requirements, typically seven years.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and inquiry data is held in access-controlled systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit who can access your information to those who need it to do the work.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email diamondjimleather@gmail.com and we will respond within 45 days.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose about you
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information, and have not done so in the preceding 12 months
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
To exercise a right, email diamondjimleather@gmail.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You may use an authorised agent.
Other US states
Residents of states with comparable privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Texas) have similar rights of access, correction, deletion and portability, and may exercise them the same way.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be announced on this page before taking effect.
