Terms of Service

Last updated: July 21, 2026

These Terms govern your use of this website and any commission you place with Diamond Jim LeatherWorks, trading as Diamond Jim LeatherWorks (“we,” “us”). By using this site or commissioning work, you agree to them.

What we do

We design and hand-make custom leather goods to order — including sporrans, knife sheaths, belts, journals and book covers, bags, furniture, and props and costume leather for film, stage and museum use. This website is a portfolio and inquiry point. Nothing on this site is an offer of sale and no items are sold directly through it. Every piece is quoted individually.

Delivery, shipping and risk

Pieces are collected in Palm Coast, Florida or shipped worldwide at cost. Risk passes on delivery to the carrier; we recommend insured shipping and will arrange it on request. Import duties, taxes and customs charges are the recipient's responsibility. We are not responsible for carrier delays.

Materials, variation and care

Leather is a natural material. Grain, colour, scarring and patina vary between hides and change with age and use; this is a characteristic of the material, not a defect. Hand-tooled work is made by hand and reasonable variation from photographs or samples is expected. Care instructions are supplied with every piece, and damage caused by failure to follow them, by misuse, accident or normal wear is not a defect.

Workmanship

We warrant our workmanship — stitching and construction — for the working life of the piece under normal use. If a seam or construction fault appears, contact us and we will repair it. This warranty is personal to the original commissioner and excludes normal wear, accidental damage and third-party alterations.

Intellectual property

All content on this site — photographs, text, the journal, logos and the maker's marks — belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without written permission. Where you supply artwork, a crest, a logo or a design for a commission, you confirm you have the right to use it and you permit us to reproduce it on your piece. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we may photograph completed work and show it in our portfolio; tell us if a commission is confidential and we will keep it out of the portfolio.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse this site — no attempts to breach security, scrape content at scale, or submit unlawful, abusive or deliberately false information through the inquiry form.

Disclaimers

This site and its content are provided “as is.” Journal articles offer general craft and care guidance, not professional advice, and we make no warranty that following them will produce a particular result. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to a commission or your use of this site will not exceed the amount you paid us for the commission concerned. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from artwork, designs or materials you supply, including claims that they infringe a third party's intellectual property or other rights.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [GOVERNING LAW COUNTY / STATE], and you and we consent to that jurisdiction. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

Changes

We may update these Terms; the version in force is the one published here when you accept a quote. The “last updated” date above shows when they last changed.
