Years ago, I met Diamond Jim. I needed a belt, and was tired of buying new, bonded leather pieces of garbage that wore out quickly. He told me he could make a belt that would be the last belt I’d ever need to buy. When he quoted me a very reasonable price, I placed my order. He quoted me a timetable for when it would be completed, and delivered early. I can’t tell you how happy I have been with this belt. It’s exactly what I asked for, and I ordered one in black shortly after receiving my brown one. Rather than buying several belts periodically since placing the order for this belt, I’ve saved money by investing in this one, and I’ve enjoyed it. Enjoy a belt? You bet. Get one and you’ll see for yourself. If you need a belt, a notebook cover, or a kick-butt Plague Doctor mask, look him up. You won’t be disappointed.

I had the privilege of working with him as an apprentice for a short time, and his knowledge of history, the evolution of his craft, and the artistry expressed through every piece he creates is nothing short of astounding. He has also made a number of leather pads to cover expensive wooden desks, in addition to completing a number of other miscellaneous leather projects for us. He has also offered his expert advice on high end European leather chairs which have greatly helped our purchasing decisions. Importantly, his pricing is honest and fair. While we were saddened that we wouldn’t be able to associate with him in person once he moved from Utah to Florida, thankfully, we continue to enjoy his help long distance from time to time as we have him make and then ship items to us.

My name is Bruce Wing. I’m a Prop Master in the film business. I have worked on large shows from John Carter ($250 million) to shows under a million. DJ and I have been friends for many, many years. He is an artist as well as a craftsman — knowledgeable, detailed and precise in all aspects of his craft. What’s important to me is to work with people who are honest, reliable, prompt and skilled at what they do. In addition, working with someone like Jim, who creates no drama, is invaluable. He has always been cordial, respectful and easy to work with. Jim has made many prop items for me, including period leather shoulder bags, quivers, leather tool boxes and leather trunks — from Biblical times to the 1800s to modern times.
